"Like a small boat on the ocean sending big waves into motion like how a single word can make a heart open. I might only have one match, but I can make an explosion."
~ Rachel Platen #FightSong
It gives us energy when we feel we can no longer fight.
It sparks the light when we have been abandoned in the darkness.
Pure love is not physical and does not wage war in the physical realm
Pure love manifests itself in heavenly language inspired by angels.
It may not always be seen or touched, but it is felt and experienced.
It's our timeless 6th sense.
It is the only thing truly worth fighting 4...
The only thing truly worth sacrificing 4..
24 hours a day.
I've been putting forth effort to end the war on drugs and poverty, including performing outside The White House this past weekend for our 4/2 Smoke-In where I was embraced by the DC community as we walked the streets with people of all nationalities with local police, and Secret Service watching us spark J's, celebrating peace & positivity while urging President Obama to support rescheduling cannabis from a Schedule I drug leaving it open to be researched and more accessible for those who may benefit from its effects. It has never killed anyone, yet it heals cancer and mental illness. Therefore, it should not be categorized into the same listing as Heroin. I've had relatives on heroin. They're DEFINITELY not the same.
Drugs / Substances listed in DEA Schedule I include:
- Heroin (diacetylmorphine)
- LSD (Lysergic acid diethylamide)
- Marijuana (cannabis, THC)
- Mescaline (Peyote)
- MDMA (3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine or “ecstasy”)
- GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyric acid)
- Ecstasy (MDMA or 3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine)
Obama Commutes Sentences for 61 Convicted of Drug Crimes
It was great exercising my freedom after dealing with a warrant that didn't keep me from getting my DC identification, returning as a resident. Now I'm registered with the DC Statehood Green Party & Utopia. Clearly the police and the city were on my side. The police were asking me for direction at the march. It was madness.
No one should have their Future destroyed because they didn't have enough money to get to a job opportunity. Kids in DC have been getting locked up for that, having their futures destroyed, so I'm glad my life could act as an example of how to overcome economic oppression. About 2 years ago, I turned in a petition to Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes-Norton's office to amend the 13th amendment to decriminalize poverty and drug possession. Everyone should have the right to live as their authentic selves with or without money. We all have the rights to pursue happiness. I never imagined the path it would send me down, but it's very rewarding to see my life act as a testimony to advocate for the freedom of people I may never meet.
President Obama (44th President) Has Now Commuted the Sentences of 248 Individuals
Although March Madness is fun, I spend a good portion of my business day around the "homeless" at the McKenna Center in Ward 6. When I'm in populations of disenfranchised males in particular the common factor tends to be a lack of love from the female gender in their immediate living circumstances--often times losing family by losing time to the judicial system.
Why Should Congress Pass The Redeem Act--(Cory Booker, US Senator of New Jersey #HandsOffAssata)
Record Expungement Designed to Enhance Employment Act of 2015 or the REDEEM Act
Amends the federal criminal code to provide a process for the sealing or expungement of records relating to nonviolent criminal or juvenile offenses.
•Creates a federal sealing pathway for nonviolent adult ex-offenders:
•Automatically seals and, in some cases, expunges juvenile records
•Incentivizes states to raise the age of adult criminal responsibility to 18 years old
•Significantly restricts room confinement of juveniles
•Lifts the lifetime SNAP and TANF bans on many non-violent drug offenders
•Improves the accuracy of the FBI background check system:
Homelessness is a social issue affected by economics. Home is where the heart is. Where you find men wandering in despair with no hope, you find men yearning to be loved by a society that views them more as liabilities than assets--many being ex-offenders. That's why events like #SundaySoulDC are so important. They rejuvenate men with the love of MAAT to help them get through.tough times. That was the topic of the day for the men at Mckenna Center today. Everyone was talking about it. Everyone agreed that receiving a little TLC helped them to begin the new week with a smile. Everyone wants to feel loved, even if just for a moment. Moments turn into movements. Love liberates. #BLA
