"I'm just roaming the roads
Seeing what paths lead to what laughs
Trying to figure out if 6 figures
Could make life come full circle
The tortoise in Madagascar lives to see two centuries
Never in a hurry, life's never a mystery
Each day I have more questions,
But it's like only an ellipsis ever answers my wishes."
"I see decayed teeth and weary eyes on cold rainy, dark streets.White, Black & Brown faces all under filthy sheets.
I see preppy college students with meal plans
Debating about Subway versus Potbelly's next to Starbucks fans"
When my family at the time and I were on the verge of becoming homeless, I asked Paul for advice. Paul has money, but I didn't ask him for money. I asked him for free advice. He told me to launch Evolution of Love GoFundMe campaign and through this campaign I was able to raise funds to completely relocate my family for 6 months while expanding my movement and distribute books to South Carolina then to Philadelphia all while forming strong strategic partnerships with organizations like The Salvation Army & Working Families and launching a music career after being too shy to share before. Through the Evolution of Love & Utopia Campaigns I have learned that all we need are 1)Food 2)Water 3)Shelter & 4)Love to build foundations of happiness. So this #MondayMotivation is dedicated to my mentor & advisor Paul Carrick Brunson for teaching me that from our deepest pain we find our greatest passion and that life is nothing without love ! Thank you for everything! Happy Birthday!!!!
Check out the poem "The Road" from my book Evolution Of Love: A See you. Be you. Do more Story. I wrote this poem my senior year at Howard University while in The Towers looking at Georgia Avenue. Enjoy!
